| its purpose
Although most of my paintings are sold through galleries I have also decided to open my studio to anyone interested in my work. Whether that interest is from seeing my work for the first time on this site or from having viewed some of my work previously in a gallery, you would be very welcome.
There are many advantages to seeing paintings at an artists' open studio;
* you have the chance to meet the artist and,
* discuss their ideas, thoughts and techniques
* you are able to see how their paintings are produced
* you will see works in progress and therefore,
* see works before they appear in galleries or exhibitions
* see a larger range of paintings than in most galleries or exhibitions, and
* without other artists' styles surrounding them as in a solo art exhibition
Following the success of last years norfolk open studios - NOS09 - I will be joining fellow artists again for NOS10 which will include further events at my open studio this year - click here for details
Last year I received very complimentary comments from visitors for both my paintings and the studio. Although I take great care to represent my paintings accurately on this site all visitors without exception said that they 'exceeded expectations when seen in the studio'. The Studio was also praised for its space, light and the way the paintings were presented within its own art gallery area. There is a seating area to relax in and view paintings of interest, with tea and coffee being available. My intention is to create an informal atmosphere for you to enjoy viewing my work without any pressure or obligation to purchase.
My open studio is intended to complement this on-line gallery. However, I do not sell directly from this site, as I strongly believe paintings should be seen 'live' first.
If you are interested in a painting on this site I will be happy to reserve it for you without obligation for up to one month in order for you to arrange a viewing.
Commissions can be undertaken - please enquire for details
Discounts are available for multiple purchases.
I am only able to accept cash or cheque as payment. However, monthly interest free payments can be arranged ( similar to the - affordable art scheme ), the painting being ready for collection on final payment.

| opening times
In theory, my studio is open all year. However, in practice, I recommend you either telephone or email me before planning a visit, firstly to make sure that I will be there! and also that I will be available - my painting technique sometimes requires that I am undisturbed. I will however, try to accommodate your dates and times as much as possible including weekends and evenings.

| how to get there
My studio is in the village of West Raynham, Norfolk, close to the wild north coast, famous for its big skies, equally big sandy beaches, estuaries, creeks, saltmarshes and diverse wildlife. So why not make a day of it or even a weekend!
If you email me to arrange a date and time for a visit I will send the full address and directions by reply, suitable for the area from which you are travelling.
